We had our first vacation together! Caleb, Chris and I spent the week at Crystal Beach, TX. Our baby dogs went to "vet camp" for the week. I told Caleb that Jill and Katy had a chance to go to the park and pee on the flowers and to the lake to swim and go canoeing. Caleb was happy about that and so were Chris and I.
Back to our vacation. We met grandmommy Debbie and granddaddy Larry at the beach house. It was awesome! It was a big house and others there were: Aunt Mary and Uncle Wayne and Bella, Aunt Stephanie, Kim, Patrick and Jenna and Matt. Mid-week grandparents Pruitt came down. So needless to say that baby boy was hardly ever put down. He had no complaints!
Tuesday was a sunny day when we got there.
Wednesday was really ugly weather so the whole group loaded up and drove to the ferry and went over to Galvaston Island to eat lunch. We ate at Willy G's and everyone enjoyed sea food, I got fetuchini alfredo and chicken(-: We took our time making it back home and when we got there we watched Nacho Libre, I love that show.
Thursday was a rainless day, not pretty but rainless. Chris and I took Caleb to the beach to put his feet in. He cried everytime the water touched his feet. He'll learn to love it after all he is half Becky, right? Larry bought a ton of crabs and shrimp and he and my dad cooked out together. The grandma's took turns holding the boy while we went to the beach and rode on the mule. I even got to take a bath in the huge bath tub with Caleb. It was fun!
Friday Larry, Dad, Chris and Matt left at 5 am to go deep sea fishing. When the left it was slightly rainning, but after they left it started to flood, literally. The thunder and lightning was incredible and it just absolutely flooded for about 4 hours. Water came in the downstairs apartment and was about 3 or 4 inches deep. We all watched movies and laid around until the sun came out around noon. All the aunts and uncles left for home around noon. I took the chance to be alone and went to the beach for a couple of hours to lay out and read. I am hooked on the Sons of Encouragement series by Francine Rivers. I'll be sad when I've finished them. That afternoon the boys came back from fishing with about 100 stories. Lots of fish, getting soaked and getting sea sick.
Saturday we relaxed in the morning and I did some more reading and laying out while the grandmommies took turns fussing over Caleb. We ate lunch at Stingaree came home and took a nap and left around 5 pm to come back to Longview.
We had a wonderful time! Caleb is such a good baby. Next year when he's one it will be fun to make sandcastles and play in the water.
WELL, here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what our week looked like.
